THE FAMILY LEGEND

  jennysidebar_button_SAT-2[1]

I feel like I’ve received a gift!  Jenny has given us 100 words this week!  I used to think 100 words were not enough, until she started limiting our centus to 15 and 25.  Well, you taught me a lesson, Jenny.  I am now grateful for the plethora of 100 words! Thank you!

The prompt this week, is a fun photo.

LEGEND HAS IT THAT…

egg-frying-on-sidewalk-photo[1]

“What’s for breakfast, Mom?”  I motioned for him to follow me outside.  Cracking the egg on the sidewalk, I revealed the family legend.

Your great grandfather, Walter, insisted upon hot breakfasts. During the summer of 1905, his wife, Marvel, not wanting to light the stove, fried Walter’s eggs on the cement beside the well pump.

“Breakfast is out by the pump. Better wear your spectacles.” As usual, he ignored her.

He threw his fork into the sink. “The eggs were good, but the sausage links were limp.”

Marvel was puzzled until she noticed their little dog scratching on the door!

I hope you didn’t read this before eating breakfast.  I’m sure other Saturday Centus links will not be so gross, so check them all out at Jenny Matclock’s Off On My Tangent. Thank you for visiting.  Laurie

LOL! Yeah, those sausages were a bit limp, but that's only because they were so fresh! The firm sausages are out behind the house by the tree.

Hilarious! Great job!
