SHE RECOGNIZED ME!

I am linking to Jenny Matlock Off On My Tangent.  Jenny’s prompt this week is “Has it really been a decade”. 

 

HELLO DEAR

“Hello dear”. 

I signed with relief.  She recognized me today. 

“Look at that pretty Robin in the courtyard.”

I turned my head.  “That bird feeder on your window attracted him.”

“You know, my daughter gave me that feeder.”

I looked into her eyes, “Mom, it’s me, Layne, your daughter.”

“I know, and where is your father?”

“Mom, remember?  Dad died.”

“Of course dear, just last week.”

“Mom, it’s been a decade.”

“Has it really been a decade?”

Nurse Sharon came in with medications.

“Hello dear,” my Mother greeted Sharon.

I sadly kissed the top of her head  and went outside to refill the bird feeder.  laurie
