Oh Jenny, this was a difficult prompt for me. I thought I wasn’t going to attempt it, but, please forgive me for my decision to add this silly little ditty to this week’s Saturday Centus (and I did end up with an extra word. I knew if I spent any more time trying to edit this silliness, I’d chicken out and not post it). Jenny’s prompt is “It’s an amusing little whine”.
WHINING EVER AFTER
Said he to she,
“I’ll not marry thee.”
Said she to he,
“You would marry me,
if you knew what you’d see.
~~~~
For under my skirt, I store
Delightful treasures galore.”
He asked, “are you a whore?”
She showed him to the door.
~~~~
“I’ll have none of your kind,”
she said with a drawn-out whine
He thought, “from a woman so fine,
It’s an amusing little whine.”
~~~~
Thinking, “I’ll make her treasures mine
When I give her a diamond with a shine,”
On bended knee, and with a whine,
he asked that the two forever bind.
~~~~
“Yes,” said she, with joyous laughter,
Thus, they whined happily ever after!
I’m not convinced that I should thank Jenny for hosting Saturday Centus this week. After reading my submission, you probably aren’t sure either. Please go to Jenny Matlock Off On My Tangent for links to better reading. Thank you for taking the time to read my silliness. laurie
