Saturday Centus’ hostess, Jenny Matlock Off On My Tangent, provides a prompt each Saturday, and this week, in honor of Independence Day, she came up with a doozy! At least she allowed us 100 words this week (excluding the prompt, which is in bold print in my contribution). Last week, she only allowed 60 words! I don’t know how she comes up with a prompt for each week. Jenny, thanks for hosting this challenge each week, and thanks for coming up with the prompts. You sure know how to make us have to think! Be sure you go over to Jenny’s, and check out the other contributions to Saturday Centus.
THE MISUNDERSTANDING
As they walked on the beach, he told her that he wanted to wake up with her by his side. She pulled away and ran ahead. He thought of the embarrassment he would feel when they reached the pier, where friends and family waited.
He knew he couldn’t give up now, so when he heard the drone of the airplane, he hurried to her and casually asked, Oh say, Can you see that airplane? She looked up in time to see the “Marry Me” banner. She turned to him and shouted, Yes! I thought you were asking me to move in with you!
Thank you for your visit to my contribution to Saturday Centus. Laurie
