I am joining Saturday Centus again this week. Jenny has given us 100 words plus the prompt. This may be my last Saturday
Centus for awhile, since Jenny is threatening to begin making them more difficult next week. Let’s all butter her up, so she’ll be nice. Jenny, you are a wonderful, fabulous, incredible blogger, and you have an amazing writing talent. You come up with fabulous prompts (especially if you allow 100 words with them)! Okay Jenny, now you HAVE to be nice to us, right?
COME FOR CHRISTMAS
(PROMPT: Mother May I)
Mother, may I invite you here,
I’d love to feel your presence near,
Hear your voice one more time.
Feel your hand holding mine.
Come for Christmas in our home
Bring Daddy too; don’t come alone.
You’ll both be elated and proud to see
who your grandchildren have grown to be.
You’ll hold my grandchildren in your arms,
And soon succumb to all their charms.
You’ll recall lessons you taught along the way,
As you watch the children while they play.
Mother, may I show you
what has come to be?
Or do you and Daddy
look down to see
The beauty of
your legacy?
In loving memory of my Daddy (1967) and Mother (2001).
Thank you for visiting my Saturday Centus. My contributions are not normally somber, so if you come back to visit, I hope I’ll have something more fun to share. To find other Saturday Centus entries, please go see Jenny Matclock at Off On My Tangent. Laurie

What a lovely piece. You clearly loved your parents and still miss them both. They were very lucky to have a daughter like you I think!
I'm hosting another 100 words that are different but you may like to have a go.

Oh Laurie, this made my eyes well up with tears.
Absolutely lovely and poignant.
And, geez, now I feel all bad I did a shake up after you wrote all those nice things.
So maybe next week I will be nicer...although I do have a little idea that I'm wanting to try!
