Life has been soooo busy lately. I am happy to be able to again join Saturday Centus at Jenny Matlock’s Off On My Tangent. Thank you for hosting, Jenny.
FOOLED YOU, FOOL!
(Prompt: I planted a little story seed)
We’d been dating almost four years.
I cooked grand meals to serve each night,
I brought to him three nightly beers,
And choked back words to avoid a fight.
~~~
I planted a little story seed of a life of ease,
Of king of the castle, and of married bliss.
He should have known I was being a tease,
And that this was a life he’d one day miss.
~~~
Now when he demands the television remote,
I hold the desired gadget tightly in my hand,
And say, “It’s now sailed – your storybook boat,
For you are, at last, a happily married man.”
~~~
This is completely fictional. My husband is no fool, and I did NOT trick him into marrying me (at least I don’t THINK I did – that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it). Thank you for visiting my blog. laurie
Okay, sure we believe you! This is still making me smile, and laugh right out loud! He's such a lucky man either way right!
Many a married story would have a happy man with a woman like that....great and humorous writing.
LOL! Great job Laurie! And what an original concept for this week's Centus!
Not too far from the truth for some people. I'm not so sure that ends up being a happy life, ha. Good job.
Hey we believe you :)
Excellent Laurie !
So true to life and funny !
I think your 'inner critic' should take a permanent vacation on Alpha Centuri because your offerings week after week are really good !!!
