This week, Jenny has given us a picture prompt and 100 words! We are to write from the perspective of a nearby window in the photo. I want to get inside Jenny’s head for a little while, just to see how her mind comes up with these interesting prompts.
LIVING VICARIOUSLY
(Prompt: Looking from the window in the picture shown below)
From the window, I watch them run up and down the field. They don’t know me, but, in my head, they are my teammates and friends. I cheer when our team scores and worry when one is injured. Now, checking their numbers, I fear that Number 2, whom I call “Julie”, is on the ground. I intently watch as she bravely limps to the bench.
From the bench, Julie cheers, and I join her in cheering. I cheer for our team, Julie’s bravery, and my good fortune in having teammates and friends, in spite of my confinement to this wheelchair.
Thank you for coming to read my perspective from the window. To find links to other’s perspectives, go to Jenny Matlock Off On My Tangent. laurie

Loved it. Very sensitive take on the prompt.
It would be hard to be the one watching but made much easier by the love of good friends.
=)
I love that ending Laurie! It is such a hopeful 100 words & so well written! Hope to see you over at Julia's Place soon. Monday's prompt is easier - promise! ;)
Laurie, we had similiar takes on the prompt! Yours is really good!
Beautiful job, Laurie! I loved your take on the prompt!
Loved the story and being a cheerleader is such an important part for each one of the players to know that theya re cheered on.
Blessings
Oh, this was sadly sweet.
My, that was pretty wistful. Well done.
Oh Laurie. I loved this!
Absolutely loved this.
It made me sad and happy and reinforced in my mind how we never know peoples real stories.
Perhaps the kids on the field see her in that window?
Perhaps they wonder if she is stuck up because she doesn't come and play!
Wow.
I loved this!
