Jenny tricked us! Did you see this picture prompt she gave us last week? (Last week, this picture was turned sideways.)
This week, Jenny gave us “the rest of the picture”. This little girl is graduating from kindergarten! It was difficult for me to switch my brain from the romantic story of a woman in her high heels to a kindergartener (my mind is “kinda” slow that way). I finally came up with about 200 words in response to this picture. As always, I then tackled the hard part of Saturday Centus, i.e, reducing my writing to 100 words.
MOMMY’S HAPPY
Mommy wants me to enter pageants. I have to stand up straight and walk in high-heeled shoes. I had to learn to play piano. It requires hours of practice, and I still get butterflies in my stomach when I perform. I have to smile at the judges and act like I’m having fun. I think Mommy’s having more fun than me. When it’s over, sometimes I have a crown, and sometimes another girl has a crown. But, Mommy always says, “Wasn’t that fun”. I try to smile, as I look down at the shoes that are hurting my feet.
Thank you for stopping by to read my writing attempts. Be sure to check out the other responses to Saturday Centus at Jenny Matlock Off On My Tangent. laurie

Those women who try to live vicariously through their little daughters just make me sick. Those poor little girls!!
Yep, you nailed this.
I'm with Judie. 100%.

I would hope one of those times the little girl would say No she isn't having fun, LOL. The few times I've seen them, it just doesn't look natural to me, ha.
The minute I saw last week's picture, my feet had sympathy pains!
Nice entry!
ooh...grrr... sore subject. I totally agree with Judie and Sue and Viki. Well done.
I missed last weeks Laurie but this is a great piece for the rest of the picture. I can imagine feet that hurt. My piece has a focus on the shoes as well!
Judie's comment really struck me.
And so did your post.
I always tell my Grandlittles not to be in a hurry to grow up. That being grown up is forever...childhood is brief.
Hope your Sunday is going lovely Miss Laurie!
Sending a big hug your way.
